Red Light
When is a red light not a red light? When it is at the top of Palisades Drive in the Highlands. Many drivers I’ve observed (especially going downhill) don’t even feel inclined to slow down at the red light, much less stop. Residents turning left onto Palisades Drive from Palisades Circle are so aware of this fact they often don’t proceed on a green light but stop and look to be sure no one is coming before making their turn. Unfortunately, visitors are not aware so we all need to slow down and obey the traffic laws before someone is seriously hurt.
Loud
Why are police and fire sirens so loud? Honestly, I can hear them from miles away. I do not need to know about such troubles. And when I am on Sunset, and they are screaming past me, it’s unbearable and unnecessary.
Humidity
To all those whiners in Pacific Palisades who think this weather is hot and humid when the temperature is only 75 and the dew point is only 65: This would be a dry and cool summer day across most of the U.S. A warm and humid day would be 85 degrees and dew point 70. A really hot and humid day would be a temperature of 95 with dew point of 75. There would be about 35 percent more actual water in the air than today with much hotter temperatures.
Surprised
Hey, we had a little bit of rain. It was wonderful, cooling. More, please.
Charlotte
Amazing story by that Palisadian at the Dakota pipe protest. She sounds like she is very brave, but she must have worried her family something bad and is now in jail. Was it worth it?
Ryderz
Let’s hear it for the righteous linguist who upbraided the Ruthless Ryderz Web Talk apologist who must have skipped English classes, or had dumbed-down teachers.
Ryderz II
Glad to hear that the LAPD is finally getting its act together and driving this motorcycle “club”—I think of it as a gang—out of the Palisades by the most important element of policing: showing up. Now let us make sure they don’t come back in such numbers ever again, at the risk of losing more than their licenses or silly machines.
