AÂ showdown for tennis supremacy in the Western League turned out to be a mismatch Thursday, as Palisades High blanked host Westchester 7-0 to move into sole possession of first place.
Even without top player Caroline Goldberg, the Dolphins swept all four singles pro sets. Senior captain Calypso Peraticos won 8-3 at the top spot, Sophia Arvin won 8-2 at No. 2, Alex Hart won 8-4 at No. 3 and Alex Miller won 8-4 at No. 4 singles.
In doubles, Gigi Feingold and Caroline Ross won 8-0 at No. 1, Mercedeh Khazaieli and Taylor Barfield won 8-4 at No. 2 and Caleigh Crossman and Morgan Novak won 8-1 at No. 3.
On Tuesday, Palisades prevailed 11-7 in a nonleague match at Santa Monica, winning six of nine singles sets and five of nine doubles sets under round robin scoring.
