The Malibu Orchid Society hosts Joseph Arditti, emeritus biology professor at UC Irvine, who will discuss the various ways that orchids have adapted to survive in nature, 7:30 p.m. at the Woman’s Club, 901 Haverford. The public is invited.
The 2012 Chautauqua Series in Temescal Gateway Park presents author Diane Lang, 7:30 p.m. in Woodland Hall. She will discuss her book, ‘Vulture Verses: Love Poems for the Unloved,’ about snakes, spiders, cockroaches and other less-than-loved animals. Parking is free.
