The Pacific Palisades JNET (Jewish Business Networking) chapter has been meeting the third Wednesday of the month since April at Kehillat Israel on Sunset.
The group’s next meeting will be held on July 17, starting at 6:30 p.m. with networking and the meeting at 7 p.m. Everyone spends 30 seconds introducing themselves and then two members each spend 10 minutes giving a presentation to the group.
On Wednesday, Anthony Marguleas of Amalfi Estates will speak on “Residential Real Estate Forecast: What’s Really Happening with the Market.” Don Mink of Mink Condominium Management & Consulting will speak on “Quickbooks Online for Home and Business.”
Marguleas is the chapter president, joined by David Krol (vice president), Linda Freeman (chapter membership), and Julia Hubner (public relations).
JNET was founded in 2005 at the former Temple Beth Haverim in Agoura Hills. The member-based group now has over 250 members (including almost 40 in the Palisades chapter), representing numerous professions in 11 chapers. The group has goals to expand throughout Southern California and then across the country.
“I’ve found it to be wonderful and positive,” Marguleas said. “I’ve met a lot of nice people, many of whom I have done business with. I’ve also given and received a lot of business through JNET. It’s been very well received and I’m happy about that. If I need professional services, I first go to my JNET Rolodex of contacts.”
Members don’t have to be affiliated with a temple, and guests can attend a meeting for free before they join for the $85 membership fee. “Once you’re a member of JNET, you are considered a member at any chapter of the organization,” Marguleas said.
JNET also puts on mixers twice a year: one in the summer, and a Hanukkah-themed mixer in the winter for all their chapters.
