A special performance of “I Love Lucy: The Untold Story” will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 3 at Kehillat Israel, 16019 Sunset Blvd. Tickets are $18.
This humorous short play has had successful productions on both coasts. The cast features Charlene Tilton and Dick Van Patten, and was written by Palisades High School graduate Gregg Oppenheimer. Oppenheimer’s dad, Jess, was the creator, head writer and producer of “I Love Lucy,” starring Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. The play is a behind-the-scenes look at the television show.
The play will be performed in the style of old-time radio, with the actors and singers standing at microphones, scripts in hand, plus sound effects and recorded music.
After-show refreshments will be served, and attendees will have the opportunity to mingle with the cast. Proceeds benefit Kehillat Israel’s “Sages” seniors program. Seating is limited. Contact: ourki.org.
