Alfred De La Garza, who refers to himself as “The Beast,” was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon at Marquez Place on Tuesday, Nov. 24 after attacking another homeless man.
Caltrans spent hours excavating Garza’s encampment in the hillside along Pacific Coast Highway on Sunday, Nov. 15 removing three tons of trash and debris that accumulated over the three years he had been living there.
LAPD Senior Lead Officer Michael Moore told the Palisadian-Post Garza had been wanted for since Nov. 7 when he brandished a knife at State Beach Liquor but quickly fled the scene and hadn’t been seen since.
“Now he will be charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon,” Moore said.
