Despite a solid pitching performance by Augie Sylk, who had five strikeouts in four and two-thirds innings, the Palisades High baseball team lost to Peninsula 2-0 in Redondo Tournament action last Saturday in Palos Verdes.
The Dolphins were held to three hits: a double in the first inning by Leo Bucksbaum, a single by Jake Procino in the third and a single by Will Coquillard in the sixth.
“It was a good game, Augie pitched well but our opportunities with runners in scoring position came with two outs and we couldn’t cash in,” Coach Mike Voelkel said. “We played well defensively and just need to find a way in our future games.”
Palisades traveled to Westchester on Tuesday, hosts the Comets today and wraps up Western League play against LACES next week.
