After leading the Palisades High baseball team to the Western League title and the No. 6 seed in the City Section’s inaugural Open Division playoffs, junior pitcher Will Coquillard has been named to the 2018 All-City Open Division team.
Coquillard was one of three utility players chosen, along withAnthony Joya of Banning andTravis Connelly of San Pedro.
Coquillard was the Dolphins’ ace on the mound, posting a 6-1 recordwith a 2.28 earned run average and 55 strikeouts in 55 innings pitched. He was equally impressive at the plate, batting .378 with 28 hits and 22 RBIs. Palisades went 22-10 overall and 12-0 in league. Coquillard was earlier voted Western League Co-MVP.
