The Everychild Foundation, which includes Palisadian board members, has announced the recipient of its 19th annual $1 million grant: Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services, which will use the grant to expand its youth suicide prevention program. The foundation is dedicated to raising funds and awareness for children in need in Los Angeles.

Palisadian Frank Baxter, who has opened 28 charter schools in low-income neighborhoods across Los Angeles, was the guest speaker at the Optimist Club’s recent meeting. Baxter explained to attendees how he is committed to changing the education model from “one size fits all” to personalizing students’ paths to success.

Nearly 150 people attended Kehillat Israel’s most recent event: American Jews and Israel: Why the Relationship Still Matters. The event featured a talk by Jewish Journal publisher and Editor-in-Chief David Suissa.
