A small crew assembled by Palisadian parents Shaun Bryant, Vicki Schiff and their son Jake braved the rain for an early morning beach cleanup in Castellammare on Saturday, January 12. Luckily, the garbage-gathering gang stayed dry, missing the big downpour by a couple hours.
“We had a very successful day considering we kind of got rained out, also the timing wasn’t great,” Shaun said.
“Originally I planned for a gathering from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. but then I knew it was going to rain so I changed it to 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. We lost a lot of people from the change of time.”
Despite their diminished numbers, the crew filled up several trash bags with debris they found on the beach that day, and had fun together helping out their community and mother nature.
The Bryants have planned another clean up for the morning of February 9.
