The Two Brands Are Slated to Open at Palisades Village this Spring
By SARAH SHMERLING | Editor-in-Chief
As some brands shutter their Palisades Village locations, others are planning their grand openings, including minnow and Madewell.
Contemporary children’s swimwear line minnow, which currently operates a sole retail store in Newport Beach, will join the development for a two-month “pop shop” cart opening next week.
Founded by Morgan Smith, the California-based label is known for its clean lines and simple details, with suits fitting babies as young as 6 months old.
“As a brand that prioritizes design and quality, it was a natural fit to choose Palisades Village for our first retail expansion beyond our hometown of Newport Beach,” Betsy Parton from the minnow marketing team explained to the Palisadian-Post ahead of the opening. “We look forward to getting to know the Palisades community this spring at the minnow beach stand, where people can shop minnow swimsuits in person and where we’ll be hosting family friendly events all throughout April and May.”
The brand has offerings for both boys and girls, ranging from rashguards to bikinis to one pieces to boardies. Most pieces available in the online shop run from $50 to $70.
Minnow will host an opening launch event on April 4 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Also opening later this spring is Madewell, a representative from Caruso confirmed to the Post.
Madewell is a men and women’s clothing line, best known for its offerings of jeans. The brand also offers shoes, accessories and boots.
“Madewell is for denim lovers—or basically anyone who appreciates timeless designs that put you at ease,” Joyce Lee, head designer, wrote on the brand’s website.
The brand, an offshoot of J.Crew Group, Inc., operates more than 100 stores, with one located in Caruso’s The Grove and The Americana.
Most jeans offerings available through the online store have a price point between $100 and $200, with some sale prices closer to $50.
