Landscape photographer Jack Curran is bringing his black and white images to the Palisades and is currently on display at Estate Coffee.
But the walls of the coffee shop are only one of Curran’s many exhibitions, adding to a list of places like Paris, Athens, Berlin and Moscow, according to a spokesperson for Curran.
He has won many awards for his work, including a Moscow International Foto Award and a Black and White Spider Award.
In 2018, he was ranked the number two “Black and White Photographer Worldwide” by One Eyeland and the number six “Landscape Photographer Worldwide.”
He is a three-time Portfolio Contest winner with BW Magazine and a three-time Single Image Award winner.
Curran’s success comes after his 40-year career, having picked up a camera for the first time when he was 18.
“Many years ago, at the impressionable age of 18, embroiled in the self-centered struggle of youth, I embarked on a life-activating journey,” Curran said in a statement. “The natural environment seems the perfect place to continue my personal journey of reflection.
“Chasing the light of these days is akin to chasing a dream. Sometimes dreams do come true. For that, I am grateful,” Curran continued.
The acclaimed photographer is now paying it forward with a Mastery of Light tutorial series focused on teaching his techniques and giving a deeper understanding of photography. He has also created a new YouTube channel where he makes short form videos of his process, available for free.
Estate Coffee is located at 847 Via De La Paz.
