Homeless Community Member Dies | Pacific Palisades
A homeless community member known as “Timmy” was found unresponsive in the streets of Santa Monica. A coroner’s report under the name Timothy Houston, 63, on the same day he was found described the cause of death as a coronary artery disease.
Timmy, who was often seen in the Palisades in a wheelchair, died in the hospital.

‘Retina and Vitreous Disorders’ | The Village
The topic of Palisades Alliance for Seniors’ November 18 program is “Retina and Vitreous Disorders,” featuring speaker Daniel, Su, MD.
Su will review a few diseases that can affect the retina, a thin layer of tissue on the inside back wall of the eye that is responsible for vision, and what vision changes indicate the need for immediate medical attention.
Su is an award-winning physician for both research and surgery. He received his undergraduate degree from UCLA and his medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York. He works at the Retina-Vitreous Associates Medical Group in Los Angeles.
The program will take place in the Palisades Branch Library Community Room and run from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Disaster Preparedness Drill | The Huntington
Community members are invited to Troop 223 Scouts’ Semi-Annual Disaster Preparedness night on Saturday, November 16.
The drill will include troops being trained to respond to several disaster scenarios at various homes and wrecked cars parked on the street. Responses from real first responders are also expected.
The event will take place on a closed portion of Pampas Ricas from 4:30 to 9 p.m.

BBB Single Ride Passes | Pacific Palisades
Starting November 12, Big Blue Bus riders can purchase Single Ride passes with Transit mobile app, allowing riders “to plan their trip, track their ride, make multimodal connections—and now, pay for their trip.”
“With the debut of integrated ticketing, the result of collaboration between Big Blue Bus, Transit and Token Transit, riders can now pay for Big Blue Bus where they’re already planning trips and tracking rides,” said a statement.
All types of passes will be available for purchase through the Transit app in winter 2020.
