As the holiday season comes to a close, the final light on the menorah has gone out and the Christmas trees come down, the Palisadian-Post reveals the winners of the 2019 Deck Your Halls home decorating contest.
Taking home the prize for Best Decked Out Hall are Mark and Marie Stafford in the Via Bluffs.
“We’re really excited,” Marie shared of the win, “especially with the new Christmas tree.”
Marie explained that Mark constructed the rooftop tree without any help, including climbing equipment.
The Staffords previously were awarded the DIY/Originality prize in 2017, took a year off of decorating in 2018 and returned in 2019 to win. This year’s decorations featured a selection of white lights.
Cari Klein and her Via Bluffs home won the prize for DIY/Originality.
“We’ve entered like five times,” Klein said of her first-time win. Klein’s decor included a zebra, giraffe and an owl on the roof.
“We have Snoopy and a puppy and a kitty—a lot of animals and a lot of colors,” Klein, a 21-year resident of the Palisades, described.
The house was featured in a segment on the local news detailing houses that were decorated for the holidays.
“I’m shocked,” Klein shared of the win. “I’m really shocked.
“My husband is going to be so excited, he likes to win things,” Klein concluded with a laugh.
Both winners will enjoy certificates to Canale-Martinez Salon, This Girl Walks Into A Bar, Sweet Laurel, Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas, Kayndaves and Bay Club.
