Our beloved father, grandfather and husband Adam Carrejo died peacefully at his home in Pacific Palisades on March 10.
He and his loving wife, Mary Frances, were married 63 beautiful years. They have four children: Barbara, Steven, Cheryl and Denise; five grandchildren: John Jr., Joe, Julie, Charlie and Elizabeth; and 11 great-grandchildren, Steven, Joseph, Jaden, Loren, Madison, John III, Johanna, Abigail, Zion, Levi and Eden.
He had a generous heart, helped people in need and had a wonderful sense of humor. He was a hard worker all of his life, and was a truck driver and barber.
He was born in Horse Springs, New Mexico, and came to California shortly after their honeymoon in Carlsbad Caverns, New Mexico.
He was one of 13 children, parents were Josefa and Henry Carrejo of Los Chavez, New Mexico.
He loved his six brothers and six sisters very much. He loved to dance, sing, and play guitar and harmonica.
He also enjoyed playing basketball, baseball, football, swimming, tennis and golf. He was a long-time usher at Saint Benedict’s Church in Montebello, California, and then at Corpus Christi Church in Pacific Palisades.
His lasting legacy of love and kindness will always be in our hearts forever.
His church service memorial will be held at Corpus Christi Church on Saturday, March 21, at 11 a.m.
