Brush Fire
The recent blaze on the bluffs added fuel to the fire re: Bonin’s hairbrained proposal to locate homeless at Will Rogers Beach. When will we hear of the investigation results regarding the origin of this recent fire? Are we not being updated because the cause was yet another homeless encampment?
Editor’s note: LAFD Deputy Chief and Commander of the West Bureau Armando Hogan reported the cause of this fire remained under investigation as of Tuesday afternoon, June 8. Updates will be available in future editions of the Post.
Alphabet Streets
Have the Alphabet Streets gotten narrower, or have vehicles gotten bigger? Either way, it’s become a daily standoff between motorists heading in opposite directions.
Tire Tracks
The 2-3 inch deep tire tracks through freshly paved and barricaded Bestor is a symbolic representation of today’s entitled Palisadian. Unbelievable.
Arts
We need to support the arts in the Palisades. 17 year old Jessica Jacobs from Palisades High School has written a coming of age novel (on Kindle) about a girl trapped under her parents’ surveillance. A rebellious night leads to a violent confrontation. All at once, the surveillance is cut off, and the girl is left with a groundbreaking secret her family has kept hidden. Tragedy strikes, and she feels alone trying to deal with its consequences. Too caught up in her change of scenery, the girl wonders if she’s lost herself within it.
Summer
Who else is looking forward to summer this year? After being enclosed due to the pandemic, it is so exciting to see us now a year later, able to hang out again at the Village Green and walk through the Village. I sure missed seeing my neighbors throughout town and it’s great to be back.
Stolen Mail
More and more news of stolen mail. What is the safest way to retrieve/ send mail? And post offices PLEASE check the public drop boxes for “fishing”, or tape that people place to catch letters.
Congratulations
Congratulations to all of our graduates. Whether they have completed elementary school, middle school, high school or college, they deserve to be celebrated after a rough year.
Crime Report
Are we suddenly crime-free in the Palisades? Or have you just decided not to report it any more?
Editor’s note: While the senior lead officer position in the Palisades is filled monthly on an interim basis, the crime report is not emailed in every week as it was before. When it is received by press time, it appears in the paper.
