Agent Mailers
I understand sales and marketing of real estate is part of the biz. What I don’t understand is why I need to get a large 2 page front and back glossy high quality mailer, along with a letter, business card and paper clip, in an envelope mailed to my house – not once but twice – to tell me you sold one house up the street from me! The house is already sold, at least save the mailers for houses that are for sale or a quarterly report for multiple houses. These mailers are expensive, take up valuable resources and are not good for our environment. I threw both these mailers in the recycling bin. I wish agents would stop with all the paper! When I am in the market for an agent I would consider their carbon footprint in their marketing efforts …
5K
Congratulations to Pali Lutheran for staging a successful 5K race last weekend in the El Medio Bluffs. The event was particularly noteworthy considering how the Turkey Trot has been canceled again this year. However, the state of our streets demonstrates that Pali Lutheran has failed to adhere to one of the lesser known commandments: Thou Shalt Take Down and Collect the No Parking Signs.
Ernest
On the front page of the Oct. 14 Post was the Ernest Marquez’s book on the history of Santa Monica and the Palisades. Where can one buy a copy of his book?
(Editor’s note: For those interested in purchasing a copy of the book, they are available for $40 at angelcitypress.com/products/rbsm.)
Netflix
With ticket prices reported to be much more reasonable than before, Netflix’s version of the Bay Theater might do well in the community.
Cats
I was surprised to read in last week’s green tip that it’s estimated that 2.6 billion birds are killed in North America by cats each year. I searched around and it seems like this is, in fact, the correct number. Wow!
Dogs
I saw a post from animal control that gave three reasons to adopt a dog this month and I thought it was cute: 1. All the Halloween costumes. 2. Sweater weather = snuggle buddy. 3. You’ll never sleep alone again. I am grateful that I welcomed a rescue into my home, I hope neighbors that are in the position to do so as well consider it.
