The Summit at Palisades Highlands HOA Board Member and Recreation Committee Chair Kim Lang hosted a Halloween party for the community on Friday, October 29. Guests, decked out in costumes, played games, created crafts and enjoyed “spooky snacks.” There was a DJ on hand for music and pizza provided by Rocco’s Cucina. The evening ended with a costume parade contest.
Bruce Lurie Gallery on Via De La Paz hosted “Big Bald Art Show”—a Larry David-themed exhibition, timed to celebrate the newest season of “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” curated and produced by Steve Matoren.
Chase Pekar, a Corpus Christi and Palisades Charter High School graduate (Class of 2009), married Madalon Wieting in her hometown of Bloomington, Illinois, on October 30. Pekar earned his law degree from John Marshall in Chicago where he is an attorney with the Sherwood Law Group. Wieting, who received her master’s degree in social work from Dominican University in River Forest, Illinois, works at Rush Hospital in Chicago. The newlyweds honeymooned at the Grand Hyatt on Kauai and the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel on the Big Island.
