A freshman at Loyola High School, Braun and his partner Darren Ignatius advanced to the round of 16 in the CIF Southern Section Individual Doubles Tournament at Whittier Narrows. The tandem won its first three matches in straight sets. Braun and Ignatius, a sophomore, were Mission League doubles champions and helped the Cubs advance to the CIF Southern Section Division 1 team finals, where they lost 10-8 to Mira Costa.
