Trail Death  |  Upper Bienveneda

An adult male was found unresponsive on Saturday, March 4, at 12:58 p.m. at 1598 Bienveneda Avenue on the ground on or near a trail, according to Los Angeles Fire Department Spokesperson Nicholas Prange.

“LAFD emergency dispatchers provided instructions to multiple bystanders who took turns providing CPR,” Prange continued. “After firefighters/paramedics arrived, they took over resuscitative measures for approximately 20 minutes, but sadly, the man was beyond medical help and declared dead at the scene.”

LAFD worked with Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office to determine the next steps. A cause of death has been deferred by the coroner, pending additional investigation.

Opera Talk  |  Palisades Branch Library

Palisades Branch Library will host an Opera Talk on Saturday, March 11, beginning at 1:30 p.m.

“One of the passionate and knowledgeable volunteers at LA Opera will be giving a talk about the LA Opera’s presentation of Debussy’s opera ‘Pelléas et Mélisande’—an enigmatic tale of hidden longing and lingering suspicion,” according to information shared by the library. “Lost in the forest, a prince encounters an ethereal beauty with a mysterious past. But after she’s brought home to his family, she begins to grow increasingly close to his handsome younger brother.”

Gelson’s to Offer Irish Dishes  |  The Village

Gelson’s will be offering “Irish delicacies, festive platters and more” for St. Patrick’s Day.

Zibby’s Bookshop Event  |  Santa Monica

Zibby’s Bookshop, which opened in February on Montana Avenue in Santa Monica, will host an event for Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt’s new picture book “Good Night, Sister” on March 18 at 11 a.m.

“This event will be a storytime reading and book signing of Katherine’s newly published picture book ‘Good Night, Sister,’ which was an instant New York Times bestseller,” according to information shared by the store. “In addition, we’ll be partnering with the children’s clothing brand Pink Chicken, who will be providing goody bags and dressing Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt and our owner, [Palisadian] Zibby Owens.”
