Palisades Recreation Center is offering a Summer Basketball Camp for boys and girls ages 6 to 13. Signups are underway at LAParks.org. Cost is $350 per one-week session.
There will be three sessions, each Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (dates as follows):
Session 1: June 12 to 16 (Friday field trip to Universal Studios is additional $100 plus lunch money)
Session 2: July 10 to 14 (Friday field trip to Disneyland is additional $160 plus lunch and dinner money)
Session 3: July 31 to August 4 (Friday field trip to Raging Waters is an additional $85 plus lunch money)
Mondays will start with a warm-up session at 9 a.m. followed by dribbling at 10, shooting at 11, a 45-minute lunch, passing from 12:45 to 1:30 and games from 1:30 to 2 p.m. Tuesdays will consist of warm-ups, shooting, defense, lunch, free throws and games.
Wednesdays will consist of warm-ups, shooting, All Camp Knock Out, lunch, dribbling and games. Thursdays will consist of warm-ups, passing, a shooting test, lunch, games and awards/photos. Fridays will be field trips.
Campers should wear their camp T-shirts, and bring water and lunch daily. Activities include strength exercises, drills, scrimmages, team building games and prizes at 851 Alma Real Drive.
