The Allied Artists of the Santa Monica Mountains and Seashore will host an Art Exhibit and Sale on Sunday, March 24, in support of the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area.
The group, featuring many Palisadians, was founded more than 20 years ago with the goal of painting and preserving the natural beauty of the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area.
“This year’s show will be a celebration of the recovery after the devastating wildfires that burnt almost 100,000 acres of the Santa Monica Mountains,” a press release stated. “#SaveLACougars will provide educational materials and information about the proposed Liberty Canyon Wildlife Crossing. Representatives from the Mountains Restoration Trust, a land trust in the Santa Monica Mountains that works with the local community to protect the unique biodiversity of the Santa Monica Mountains, will also be in attendance providing information of their programs.”
Twenty local artists will present and sell landscape and seascape paintings featuring the SMMNRA. Proceeds will benefit the Western National Park Association and National Park Service.
The sale will take place from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the King Gillette Ranch Visitor Center, located at 26876 Mulholland Hwy.
