The community has welcomed the pending arrival of the first burger joint in the Palisades Village: Hank’s, created by the Blue Ribbon restaurant group, will offer “classic American food,” including a wild mushroom burger and matzo ball soup, as well as craft beers, cocktails and a California-leaning wine list. There will also be a kid’s menu and an old-fashioned soda fountain.
Blue Ribbon, which operates more than 20 restaurants from Las Vegas to Miami, was founded by new Palisadian Bruce Bromberg and his brother Eric. Hank’s is named after Rick Caruso’s late father, Henry. In another sweet twist, the brothers have also asked Bobbie Farberow, widow of Mort Farberow, the owner of Mort’s Deli, to help them revive a few items from the former neighborhood institution. Hank’s will open in 100 days on Sept. 22.
