For the 11th year, Amalfi Estates has made a donation of $5,000 to Palisades Village Green—a privately owned park in the center of town. Anthony and Max Marguleas handed a check on January 4 to Village Green President Cindy Kirven and Vice President Betsy Collins.
“Anthony’s donation will be used for some of our costly maintenance: tree trimming, sprinkler repairs, gardener fees, trash collection, etc.” Collins explained to the Palisadian-Post. “We do rely on donations and grants to support our work on the Village Green.”
Anthony said he makes the annual donation because the park is “one of the most special in what it embodies.”
“Fifty-one years ago, a group of dedicated Palisadians banded together and raised $70,000 to buy the land and put a park there, as it had been a gas station,” Anthony said. “The green represents a fantastic grassroots effort. To this day, it symbolizes our community’s spirit, generosity and love of beauty. I am honored to be able to help carry forward the original founder’s legacy.”
