GWENDOLEN TWIST
Representing The Janes Elite Racing Club, Gwen clocked 23:20.4 in cold, wet, windy and muddy conditions to place 12th overall and third in her age group in a field of 243 runners in the Masters Women 6K division of the USATF National Club XC Championships last Sunday at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. Her gutsy effort helped The Janes 40 team take third. A Jane since 2017, the Alphabet Streets mom and former Palisades High School cross country and track coach was third in the Women’s 45-49 division in hot and humid conditions at last year’s Nationals in Tallahassee, Florida in a time of 24:55.7 and she competed in the Open Division race two hours later. Gwen helped The Janes Masters team win the USATF Team Club XC Championship in 2018 and 2019 and won the Palisades Turkey Trot 5K for the first time in 2019 with a time of 18:57.
