MILES PARTAIN
A 6-foot-3 sophomore setter and opposite hitter for the No. 2-ranked UCLA men’s volleyball team, Miles filled up the stat sheet in the Pac-12/Big Ten Challenge at Pauley Pavilion, recording 47 assists, 11 digs, six kills, two blocks and one service ace in the Bruins’ five-set triumph over Ohio State, then adding 42 assists, seven digs and three blocks the next night during a four-set win against Penn State. Miles and his older brother Marcus, also a setter for the Bruins, led Palisades High to three straight City Section volleyball championships and on the beach they became the youngest pair ever to qualify for the main draw of an AVP event.
