AYSO Team’s Extra Effort Earns Locomotion Trophy

Six games, six victories. That was the record of the AYSO Region 69 Boys 12U EXTRA team at the Riverside Locomotion tournament.   In pool play, the squad beat Bishop 2-1 on goals by Jack Lee and Ocean Silkman; beat Santa Monica 2-1 on goals by Sky Silkman and Reid Romans; beat Corona 8-2 with Romans scoring three goals; and blanked South Los Angeles 2-0 on goals by Ocean Silkman and Ronen Hayempour. In the semifinals, the local squad scored six unanswered goals in the second half to top Quartz Hill (goals from CJ Arnerich, Lee, Hayempour, Romans and two by Ocean Silkman). Ocean Silkman had three goals in a 6-0 shutout of Beverly Hills in the championship game.

    Asher Collar was stellar in goal and defenders Tyler Harper, Pi Huber, Henry Levin and Logan Afifi gave up five goals all tournament. William Wickstrom also contributed. The team was coached by Craig Collar, Kamran Hayempour and Corinne Briers.
