The season is slowly slipping away for the Palisades High baseball team, as its eighth straight loss overall and a second straight 5-4 loss on Saturday at Santa Monica in the ongoing Redondo Tournament left the Dolphins 6-14 overall on the season. The Dolphins were 3-3 in Western League play entering Tuesday’s home game against Venice and play at Venice this afternoon.
Junior first baseman Cade Hulse was 2-4 with two RBI on Saturday, but PaliHi has a major uphill climb with six league games remaining and a two-game deficit. Westchester (5-1) and Hamilton (6-2) are tied for first, followed by Venice (4-2) and University (5-3). Though the Dolphins were swept by Westchester, their remaining games are against Venice, Hamilton and University.
After one more Redondo Tournament game at Agoura on Saturday, the Dolphins play at Hamilton on Tuesday and at home next Thursday at 3 p.m. The following week, they host University on May 7 and finish the season at University on May 9.
