The Pacific Palisades Baseball Association season is halfway over and already there’s been a plethora of exciting games and memorable plays on the four diamonds at the Field of Dreams complex. Entering Pinto Division (ages 7-8) play this week, the Yankees sat atop the American League and the Cubs, also at 8-3, had a one-game lead over the Dodgers in the National League. In the Mustang Division (ages 9-10), the Yankees led the American League at 8-4. The Cardinals, also 8-4, led the National League. In the Bronco Division (ages 11-12), the Orioles were clinging to a half-game lead over the Red Sox in the American League and the Dodgers had a one-game lead over the Cubs in the National League. In the Pony Division (ages 13-14), Pali White began the week with a record of 8-3, one half game out of first place and one half game ahead of Pali Red (8-4) while Pali Blue was 5-6. Pali Blue plays Santa Monica Blue at 6 tonight at John Adams Middle School and Pali Red hosts the Cheviot Hills Astros at 7:30 Friday night. —STEVE GALLUZZO
