On Monday, Aug. 7, Palisadian philanthropist Ella Zarky spent her 91st birthday feeding homeless individuals at the Venice Beach Boardwalk. Accompanied by Marvin Walker and Palisadian-Post reporter Gabriella Bock, Zarky handed out 60 lunches to the hungry. A popular volunteer with The People Concern, Zarky told the Post that feeding people brings her a “joyful fulfillment” during troubling times.
“There are so many people here who are living with nothing,” she said. “If I can brighten their days by bringing them a little lunch to eat, well then I’m going to do it.”
