Pacific Coast Highway has reopened after downed power lines at Sunset and PCH forced the closure of the highway in both directions for more than six hours Tuesday, Dec. 2, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The high-voltage power lines were dangling across all traveling lanes of the highway, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The incident was first reported at 10:20 a.m., according to Brian Humphrey, a spokesman for the LAFD.
No one was injured.
LADWP officials said they are investigating why the power lines were downed, but the rainy weather was thought to have played a factor, according to earlier reports.
There was also a power outage in the vicinity at the same time as when the power lines were downed, which affected more than 400 DWP customers.
While the crews have already left, DWP’s real-time power outage map indicates that there are still a significant numbers of customers without electricity in the area.
The Palisadian-Post is waiting to hear from DWP representatives about the ongoing outages affecting the area.
