Charles Grosh, a 57-year resident of Pacific Palisades, passed away at home on February 1 after a long battle with heart failure. Born in Hagerstown, Maryland, Charles was the oldest of three children. He met his future wife, Bess, in 1937 and they were married in 1940. They resided in Silver Spring, Maryland, until 1941, when they moved to Santa Monica. In 1948, they moved to Pacific Palisades. The family increased by two daughters and later moved to their current home on Chautauqua. Charles worked for the Bureau of Public Roads in Maryland, then joined the Federal Aviation Administration, where he worked for 37 years. He was an active member of the Palisades Methodist Church, serving on the finance committee, board of trustees and education commission. He truly enjoyed teaching Bible study and sharing his faith with others. He is survived by his daughters, Judy Grosh of Pacific Palisades and Leni Mortensen (husband Hal) of Fresno. Charles was cremated and his ashes will be joined with his wife’s, who predeceased him. The couple was married for 61 years. There will be no service. Memorial donations may be made in his name to the Pacific Palisades Methodist Church, 801 Via de la Paz.
