For the first time since camp opened four weeks ago, Palisades High football players will have a chance to block and tackle another team when they scrimmage El Camino Real on Friday at Stadium by the Sea.
“The first week of practice was a struggle learning the plays, but our linemen are getting better all the time and now we’re ready to go,” Pali High senior running back Innocent Okoh said. “Gabe has stepped up at quarterback and we’re excited to get out there.”
Both the varsity and JV teams will play (each using half the field) starting at 4:30. The same two schools scrimmaged last year.
“We want to go undefeated at home and win league,” added senior Stone Maderer, another of the Dolphins’ running backs. “We want a 12th game and starting the playoffs at home would be a huge step, so that’s our goal.”
Palisades opens the season Aug. 26 against Sierra Canyon.
