Down to its final three outs, the Palisades High baseball team didn’t quit, loading the bases in the bottom of the seventh inning of Saturday’s Tiger Classic game against El Camino Real.
Will Coquillard led off the frame with a single, Josh Barzilai singled with one out and Kent Johnson walked, but the Conquistadores turned a double play to escape with a 5-1 victory. Catcher Benji Taylor doubled to score Cord Vanley in the sixth for the Dolphins’ only run.
Earlier in the week Palisades swept league rival Westchester 5-2 and 10-2. In the second game Barzilai pitched a five-hitter, Eli Levy hit an RBI double and RBI single and Jake Nadley had a double and an RBI single.
