After 18 months, Matthew “Matt” Meyer, our education and community news reporter, is leaving us for Fox 5 Local Breaking News in San Diego. The UC Santa Barbara graduate carries with him a legacy of prize-nominated journalism and many friends in Pacific Palisades. Stepping into Meyer’s shoes is Christian “Chris” Monterrosa, a Santa Monica College graduate who is joining us from The Signal, the daily newspaper in Santa Clarita. Monterrosa will be covering education, council and community events. Meanwhile, our crime and social issues correspondent Gabriella “Ellie” Bock is on maternity leave: More on that story as it breaks.
