Dressed in a chic beige sweater with sunglasses perched atop her blonde hair, Jami Lynn Burrows pulled a salmon-colored scarf over her head in an effort to shield herself from the camera in the courtroom as she was sentenced to five years probation on Wednesday, Feb. 25 in connection with crimes in Pacific Palisades.
The 48-year-old mom, who is a former Palisadian landscaper, was also ordered to serve 60 days of community service and to pay $2,500 each to two Palisades victims – one in the Alphabet Streets and one in the El Medio Bluffs.
Judge Mark Windham also imposed a “stay away” order, banning Burrows from being in the vicinity of those two victims’ homes.
Burrows’ attorney, Ninaz Saffari, requested that her client be allowed to attend her son’s graduation at Palisades High School in June 2015 even though the school may be within the stay away boundary.
The judge ruled Burrows may attend the graduation ceremony.
Burrows was arrested on Sept. 17, 2014 and had been charged with two counts of identity theft, two counts of receiving stolen property and one count of residential burglary. She pleaded no contest to one count of receiving stolen property with a value exceeding $950.
At a hearing set for June 24, the judge will determine if Burrows must pay additional restitution to victims.
