Even without captain Ray Yang and fellow senior Will Holbrow, Palisades High’s boys golf team wasn’t about to let Taft spoil its perfect season last Tuesdday at Hansen Dam. Despite aerated greens that made the par 36 course harder, the Golfin’ Dolphins improved to 8-0 in league matches with a 203-245 triumph over the host Toreadors. Grant Ebner carded a 1-over par 37 to earn medalist honors, Ethan Rautbort was one stroke back, Jason Simon fired a 40, Kaelan Nettleship, Aaron Simon and Ali Zafar-Khan shot 44s and Bevan Chiu shot a 50 for Coach James Paleno’s squad. Before spring break, the Golfin’ Dolphins beat Cleveland by 60 strokes at Rancho Park, as Ebner and Jason Simon shared medalist honors after shooting even-par 35s. Palisades is back in action this afternoon against Birmingham at Rancho and wraps up league play next Thursday versus El Camino Real at Wilson Golf Course in Griffith Park.
