Dear Sweet Rose Creamery,
I have loved Sweet Rose since I was a little, little baby. It opened in 2015 when I was 4 and my sister Parker was 7. One of the first times I went there they asked us to take pictures of ourselves eating ice cream. Parker did, but I was a baby and I didn’t want to (I wasn’t in my happy mood that day).
Turns out, they put those pictures up on the wall. So every time I went in after that, I saw Parker eating ice cream on the wall. And I went in A LOT. They never changed the pictures. And now they are closed in the Pacific Palisades.
Inside, Sweet Rose always smelled like waffle cones and the wall was decorated really pretty. My favorite ice cream was Cookies and Cream, but one of the best things about Sweet Rose is they were always changing their flavors. If they didn’t have Cookies and Cream, I’d get a sorbet—Watermelon, Mango, Strawberry, whatever. The only time I didn’t like the sorbet was when I asked for Peach and they only had Apricot. Apricot is NO Peach.
Every time I went in there, they were super duper nice. I went after AYSO soccer, after dance recitals, and after karate. I went with my friends, my sister, my Uncle Dave, and even went all by myself. I would have even gone there for breakfast if I could. I’m going to miss you Sweet Rose.
Licks and love,
