Another favorite Halloween-time tradition in Pacific Palisades: Painting for the Pacific Palisades Woman’s Club annual Halloween Window Painting contest will begin on Saturday, Oct. 20.
All windows in The Village area—with owner permission—are eligible to be painted with this year’s theme: “Ghosts and Goblins.”
PPWC members will judge the windows based on four criteria: originality, artistic ability, neatness and theme. Participants must use washable tempera paint only, and clean their windows by Nov. 3.
With an over 50-year history, the contest was first started by the Pacific Palisades Chamber of Commerce—PPWC has since taken over, keeping the tradition going.
Applications can be picked up at the Chamber office, located at 15330 Antioch Street, or downloaded from the PPWC website: theppwc.org.
Each project must be completed by Wednesday, Oct. 24. Winners will be announced on Wednesday, Oct. 31.
There will be one winner per age group—kindergarten and 5, grades 1-2, grades 3-4, and grade 5—and all participants will receive a certificate. Mixed age groups will compete with the age group of the eldest child.
