Hans Georg Stern, a longtime Los Angeles teacher, died at his Pacific Palisades home of cancer on October 23. After escaping Nazi Germany, Stern immigrated to the United States where he attended UCLA and earned Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate degrees. He taught in secondary schools throughout Los Angeles in his 40-plus year career, retiring from Palisades High School in 1987.
Upon retirement, Stern taught computer classes at Santa Monica College and National University, and volunteered as a docent at the Getty Museum.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Milie Stern; daughter, Michelle King; son-in-law, Robert King; granddaughter, Sophia King; nephews and nieces, Larry and Diane Stern, Doug and Eileen Stern, Rod and Bonita Stern, as well as their children.
He will be missed.
