A 32-year-old woman was arrested for attempted murder after allegedly stabbing her Highlands roommate on the morning of Oct. 31.
The suspect allegedly stabbed the victim, who is 67 years old, with two knives six times across her forearms and hit her in the head with the knife handle, according to Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Officer Michael Moore.
“We believe the suspect has an unknown mental illness,” Moore told the Palisadian-Post.
LAPD responded to the call on the 1500 block of Palisades Drive and found the victim in the bathroom.
“She (the victim) had scratches, chunks of hair pulled out, a bruised face, wounds on her wrists, cuts on her cheek and a half-inch wound on her middle finger,” Moore said.
Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) Station 23 treated the victim’s wounds on the scene.
The suspect is currently in custody, Moore said.
