On Saturday, August 24, as the sun goes down over Palisades Recreation Center, community members can settle in for the fourth weekend of the 2019 season of Movies in the Park, featuring an outdoor screening of “Incredibles 2.”
Following “The Incredibles” in 2014, in “Incredibles 2,” the Incredibles hero family takes on a new mission involving a change in family roles: Mr Incredible stays home to manage the house, while his wife, Elastigirl, goes out to save the world.
Mr Incredible watches Baby Jack-Jack, as his new powers are emerging, and Elastigirl works to rehabilitate the public image and legal status of her family, as their special heroism is still illegal.
The family-favorite film, rated PG, features Craig T. Nelson as Bob Parr, Holly Hunter as Helen Parr, Sarah Vowell as Violet Parr and Huck Milner as Dashiell “Dash” Parr.
The 2018 film was nominated for Best Animated Feature Film, though the award went to “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.”
The 2019 Movies in the Park season will close next weekend on August 31 with a screening of “Black Panther.”
Attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic basket, blanket and chair. The screening will begin at nightfall, around 8 p.m.
No pets, alcohol, smoking or stick-legged chairs will be permitted. Questions and comments can be directed to moviesintheparkpacpal@gmail.com.
