Shortly after 6 pm on Monday night, May 24, I received an alert that there was a fire on the bluffs. I raced down to the scene and found our local firefighters from Station 69 hard at work.
This area had not burned in over 50 years. I watched mesmerized as members of the community gathered in fear.
There were approximately 5 helicopters working on the fire and what seemed to be hundreds of firefighters. Within hours the fire was contained.
It was incredible to witness the organization and skill of these firefighters. I’m truly in awe after watching them work and thankful no people or structures were harmed.
