Campers ages three to 14 are invited to spend part of their summer vacation in the Santa Monica Mountains at Camp Keystone, which offers more than 40 activities.
Attend the open house on Sunday, April 28 from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or call to schedule a tour at the 30-acre site in Agoura Hills.
Daily bus service is available for campers with convenient pick-up points across the Westside, Pacific Palisades and Malibu between 8 and 9 a.m. Camp starts at 9:35 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m., so campers arrive home between 4:15 and 5 p.m. Designated staff is assigned to supervise the youngest riders.
Camp Keystone features giant interactive inflatables for campers, three zip lines, a 24-ft. rock wall, a 274-ft. waterslide, an Alpine Tube slide and go-carts. Campers can also choose classic camp activities, such as arts and crafts, archery, fishing, boating, drama and karate.
The pottery class, for example, teaches kids various hand-building techniques such as slab construction, coiling and pinching as well as sculpture methods to create one-of-a-kind pieces.
Swim lessons are available for a range of ability levels from water acclimation to advanced in the camp’s 60-ft. solar-heated, recently renovated swimming pool.
Horseback riding lessons are offered after camp. Using a nurturing, natural approach to horsemanship, Keystone wranglers teach children and teenagers the comfort level and skills to groom, tack and ride their horse. Lessons are offered for beginner to advanced intermediate.
“I have been privileged to be around children for more than 30 years,” said camp founder Larry Klein. “What I want for all my campers is what I also want for my own children—a place to learn, trust, grow and let the imagination soar.”
A hot lunch program is available for $5 a day and includes an entrée and three sides, such as salad, fruit and vegetables. Lunch can be purchased on a daily basis, or pre-paid prior to camp.
The first session starts on June 17 and the final one concludes August 23. The camp is located at 2854 Triunfo Canyon Rd. off Kanan Road. Visit: campkeystone.com or call (818) 889-2224.
