Local children and teens can still join the annual summer creative writing contest sponsored by the Pacific Palisades Library Association.
This year’s contest theme is “Food . . .Writing Is Delicious, too!” Entries must include at least one reference to food and could include characters eating, a cooking experience or a family holiday gathering.
All entries must be submitted to a librarian and logged in at the Palisades Branch Library information desk before September 4. Entries may take any literary form, and age categories include: Scribblers (entering grades 1 and 2), Jotters (grades 3 and 4), Scrawlers (grades 5 and 6), Scribes (grades 7 and 8) and Authors (high school).
Awards (including $100 gift certificates to the winners of each age category) will be given out in the fall.
Further details and entry forms are available online at friendsofpalilibrary.org and at the library. Call (310) 459-2754.
