Louise Mary Slavin passed away peacefully of natural causes at her home in Rustic Canyon on February 23, 2013.
Born Louise Cornejo on August 20, 1925 in Buffalo, New York, Louise moved to Southern California in the 1940s. She worked as an executive secretary for Hughes Aircraft, and was a longtime travel agent in Pacific Palisades. Louise was an extensive world traveler, and together with her husband visited every habitable continent on Earth on numerous trips and cruises. She was a talented artist and prolific painter, an avid gardener and a fiercely competitive bridge player.
Louise was predeceased by her husband of 36 years, George F. Slavin, as well as her sisters Amelia and Mary and her brother Michael.
She is survived by her brother Peter of Buffalo, as well as many step-sons, nieces and nephews, all of whom consider themselves Louise’s children.
A memorial for Louise will be held at her home in Rustic Canyon on Sunday April 7, from 2 to 4 p.m. For more details, call (310) 890-6448.
