Two-time Oscar-nominated actress Mary McDonnell and actor husband Randle Mell are selling their house in Marquez Knolls for $3.4 million, according to a report by Variety. The couple purchased the house more than five years ago for $2.8 million.
Built in the late-1950s, the single-story home offers panoramic coastline views and a swimming pool, complete with four bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms across 2,635 square feet.
The listing boasts “empowering sunrises and magical moon rises over fields of vibrant city lights and calming forever Pacific blue waters anchored by the magnificent beauty of Catalina Island.”
The home features an open dining and living room space, with both the master and guest bedrooms opening out into the yard. A chef’s kitchen offers a traditional design with Shake-style wood cabinets and granite countertops.
Other features include exposed wood beam ceilings, concrete floors, a bright, open floor plan, “mesmerizing” city to ocean views, a spa and “perfectly proportioned living and entertainment rooms,” according to the listing.
The couple previously sold a Palisades home they had owned since the 1990s for $2 million in 2010, the LA Times reported. They had originally purchased it for $1.4 million.
McDonnell is an Academy Award-nominated actress for her roles in “Dances with Wolves” and “Passion Fish.” She’s also famous for her characters in a variety of television series, such as “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Major Crimes,” “Battlestar Galactica” and “The Closer.”
Mell acted in many well-known movies and television shows, such as “Wyatt Earp,” “24,” “Law & Order” and “Monk.”
They have two children, Olivia and Michael.
Michael Hiatt at Sotheby’s International Realty holds the listing.
