Getty Villa Extends Closure | Castellammare
In response to the coronavirus pandemic, public programs and special events at the Getty Villa and Getty Center will be postponed through August 31. Throughout the closure, online collections, exhibitions and research materials are still accessible.
The Getty has begun preparations to safely reopen, following the direction of public health officials, according to a press release.
Getty employees are either working remotely or on-site to protect collections and caring for the gardens—all are reportedly being compensated with full benefits, sick leave and no layoffs.
The J. Paul Getty Trust has also created a $10-million COVID-19 LA Arts Fund in support of Los Angeles arts organizations.

2020 Census | Pacific Palisades
Homes across Pacific Palisades will receive a paper questionnaire as the U.S. Census Bureau urges responses, claiming it is easier than ever to participate.
“It’s something everyone can do while practicing social distancing at home to make a difference today, tomorrow and the next 10 years,” Census Bureau Director Steven Dillingham said in a statement.
Across the nation, 46.2% of households have already responded to the census.
Households receiving the paper questionnaire still have the option to respond by online, by phone or by mail. Households should respond for the number of people living at that residence as of April 1.

Palisades Pitstop is giving community members an opportunity to “Nominate Your Local Heroes” with a giveaway coordinated on social media.
Those who want to participate can like the Palisades Pitstop page on Instagram or Facebook, create a post with a picture or description of a local hero, and tag both Palisades Pitstop and the person nominated in the post. Each week, the page will highlight and acknowledge the efforts of one of the local heroes across social media.
“We will then serve them by cleaning, disinfecting, sanitizing and deodorizing their trash bins with our curbside service free of charge,” according to the contest.
