The Broad Stage Announces 2020-21 Season | Santa Monica
On Wednesday, May 27, Rob Bailis, artistic and executive director of The Broad Stage—established by Palisadian Dale Franzen—Richard Kendall, board president, and Dr. Kathryn E. Jeffery, superintendent and president of Santa Monica College, announced The Broad Stage’s 2020-21 season.

The season has been modified as a result of the novel coronavirus: The in-house season will begin January 2021, but The Broad Stage still plans on presenting programs online starting in July through its streaming portal, The Broad Stage At Home. This will introduce season artists and upcoming commissions.
The official launch of the 2020-21 season will take place this fall, kicked off by the world premiere of “Birds in the Moon.” The opera will be performed outdoors in a number of to-be-determined locations in Santa Monica, with social distance protocols in place.
