PPCC Updates | Pacific Palisades
Councilmember Mike Bonin will be a guest speaker during the Pacific Palisades Community Council meeting, which will take place July 23 starting at 5:30 p.m. via Zoom.
The meeting will include an opportunity for Q&A with the councilmember.
On July 24, PPCC will distribute a Notice of Election Nominations, which will contain instructions on how to become a candidate for Area or At-large representative.
“Interested persons can also email us for more information or to request to be added to our email list: info@pacpalicc.org,” PPCC Secretary Chris Spitz explained. “The actual election will occur in September, and additional information about the election (process and schedule) will be provided in the coming days.”

Marquez Selects New Principal | Marquez Knolls
Lauren Park has been selected as principal of Marquez Charter Elementary School, replacing departing Principal Ben Meritt, a spokesperson for LAUSD confirmed Tuesday morning.
Park, who the district shared is “excited to join the Marquez community,” will replace Meritt, who is retiring.
A longer story about the transition is slated to appear in next week’s edition of the Post.

Civic League to Host Virtual Meeting | Pacific Palisades
The Pacific Palisades Civic League will host a meeting via Zoom on Monday, July 27, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
“Due to current Stay at Home Order the meeting will be held online,” a representative shared ahead of the meeting. “Please email office.ppcl@gmail.com for Zoom meeting information.”
New business includes five two-story residences, with two on Miami Way and one on Fiske, Earlham and Hartzell.

Veronica Beard Supports JDRF | Palisades Village
From July through September, womenswear brand Veronica Beard, which operates a store in Palisades Village, is partnering with Sarah Alter and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, a leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes research.
“JDRF’s mission is to improve lives today and tomorrow by accelerating life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent, and treat type 1 diabetes and its complications,” according to a press release.
Veronica Beard will donate a portion of all online sales to the cause. In addition, for every non-medical leopard face mask purchased, a match donation will be made to JDRF.
